Internship at IBS in Warsaw
We are looking for a young researcher to work on the topic of youth employment and labour market policies evaluation using administrative data. The call is addressed to PhD students from the project’s beneficiary countries: Spain, Italy, Hungary.
Institute for Structural Research (IBS) is looking for a PhD student/young researcher to work on the topic of youth employment and labour market policies evaluation using administrative data.
The call is addressed to PhD students/young researchers from the project’s beneficiary countries (ES, HU, IT) with research interests in the field of labour economics, with a focus on labour market policies for the youth.
When
The research stay can last between 1 and 3 months and needs to finish in 2020. The period may be fractioned. The location is the Institute for Structural Research in Warsaw (Poland).
Topic
The prospective topic of research will be the analysis of the NEETs in Europe and the PES performance, with special attention to gender issues. Topics of interest for the candidate could be taken into consideration, conditional on the belonging to the project framework. IBS researchers are working on topics related to labour economics, population economics and environmental issues.
Requirements
The internships are open for PhD students and graduates who:
- work in the field of economics or other fields related to IBS areas of expertise
- have good knowledge of MS Excel, Stata would be an advantage
- are proficient (C1) in English (knowledge of Polish is not necessary).
Environments
The visiting student will have the opportunity to attend seminars hosted jointly by the Warsaw School of Economics and the University of Warsaw, present her/his own work in this seminar and interact with the IBS research team on her/his research topics . In particular, the student will be able to participate in the 3rd Annual IZA/World Bank/NJD/UNU-WIDER Jobs and Development Conference "Better Jobs for Development", 21-22 May 2020, held at the Institute for Structural Research in Warsaw and take part in other Youth Employment PartnerSHIP activities.
Funding
The program will cover travel and accommodation expenses, as well as a monthly fee (1000 -1200 EUR/month).
